I made Sarah an apron for her bridal shower and didn't take a picture, cuz I'm kind of lame like that. I also gave her the best cookbook ever:
I really think everyone needs this cookbook. Dustin has approved of everything I've made out of it. Try the Chili-Lime Steak. And the Perfect Frosting. And the Brazilian Lemonade. I could go on and on, but I'll spare you. Just buy the cookbook. And check out their blog here.
I had kind of a hard time deciding what I wanted to give to Sarah and Rob for a wedding present, but I think I came up with the perfect idea:
I found the perfect frame with 5 openings at a yard sale. I cleaned it up a bit and it was ready for pictures. Love me a good yard sale find!
I drove around town with my kids one afternoon and found all the P's, A's, R's, and Y's we could. The letters I ended up using were from a park sign, TV repair shop, high school, and college signs. It was fun to throw in a little alphabet practice for Jayden. I was pretty proud that he could spell their last name by the time we were done.
I just took close pictures of the letters and edited them to black and white 4x6 in Picnik. I took them to WalMart (I wish there were more options around here!) and got them printed. I tied a big bow around the frame and taped a card to the back instead of wrapping it.
You can see it hiding in the corner...
It made a great holder for all the loose cards and tiny gifts.)
I've seen some really cute versions of this "letter art" and I was thrilled with how easy it was. What do you think? I'm brewing up a variation of it for our house. :)
Thanks for reading!
Such a cute idea! I've been on the look out for great wedding gift ideas and I'll have to bookmark this one. Thanks for the inspiration!
