"I love you because..." Frame

It's been so long since I've written a post, I almost forgot how to do it! Embarrassing. But with the new year, I have a new resolve to blog more. And I will, because I have a good incentive. I was contacted last week about doing a giveaway and I need to give this blog a little more attention in order to do their product and giveaway justice. (So stay tuned in the next couple weeks!!!)

Dustin and I recently realized that we really need to pay each other a little more positive attention. Life gets so crazy with work, kids, the house, mice, termites (oh, did I say that? Yeah, gross. The joys of living in an almost 100-year-old house! But we think they're almost gone. Hooray!), sometimes we forget to give each other compliments and remind each other why exactly we keep sticking around.

I've been pinning some ideas for our bedroom since it has been kind of neglected and I found the perfect thing! A Content Housewife has a great little tutorial for a "Love Message Board".

Here is mine:

This was seriously the easiest project ever! I just trimmed down a 12x12 piece of scrapbook paper to 8.5x11 and printed "I love you because..." on it and then popped it in the frame. Disgustingly easy, right? I wish I had printed the words a little bigger, but I'm in love with the paper and I don't have another piece to do it again, so I'll live with it. More room for love notes anyway. :)You just use a dry erase marker, right on the glass and it will wipe write off when you're ready for a new one. Whoever came up with that is pretty genius!

Dustin drew this the other day. Love it. Love him!

I got the frame at Walmart for $3. Someday I might spray it white because I love the details on it, but right now it's January and it just snowed about 4 inches, so no spray painting for me. I also have to get a little stand for it. I must have grabbed the only frame without a stand on the back. Whoops.

Finding little notes from Dustin on it make my day. :) Thanks for reading!

  1. Beautiful & Brilliant!!!!!!!! I'm making one today :)

  2. Hi, Andrea! Thanks so much for visiting my blog and leaving the kind comment! I'm totally bookmarking this project... I love writing and leaving sweet notes too! Great idea! :)

  3. I love this idea:) So cute and clever! Your newest follower. I'd love it if you stopped by sometime:) Stay Fashionable! Love,Candy

  4. Now the question for me would be--would my hubby write back?! LOL. Very cute idea and perfect for V-Day!

  5. I made one of these from a pin I saw, too, and it has been one of the favorite things I've ever made. My husband writes on one side and I write on the other and it is such a nice surprise whenever I see he has left a note for me. What a blessing such a small thing can be.

  6. awww.. I love this! Lianne from the Conent housewife is a bloggy friend on mine. Im going to tweet this to show her :)
