Sarah's wedding

I thought I'd share a few more pictures from Sarah's wedding. It was kind of a rainy day, but completely beautiful!

Here are my sisters and I, my mom, and Maycie. Remember when I said my sisters are all taller than I am? I wasn't kidding. The shoes I was wearing were at least 3 inches tall. Maybe if I stood up a little straighter instead of leaning away from Maycie's grabby hands I would look taller. Doubtful.

My aunt Amy is a party-planner extraordinaire. She did most of the decorating and coordinating and someday I want to grow up to be just like her. She arranged the flowers on their gorgeous (and yummy!) cake.

She also was the wonder behind this lovely sight:

One of Sarah's requests was a kid's table. I made a little printout with their engagement picture and a word-search with some of their favorite things. There were cups of crayons, Goldfish Crackers, and Teddy Grahams. I'm pretty sure Jayden's dinner came out of those cups as well.

Another picture of my sisters and I (Back: Me, Kathryn, Sarah, Johanna. Front: Deborah & Elizabeth). Things I love in this picture: 4 awesome headbands that I either made or helped make, we all part our hair on the same side, no one knew which camera to look at, Jo is a goof.

Rob has 10 (11? Now I forget) nieces and 2 nephews, so I made little lacy flower clips for all the girls and satin ties for the boys. Here is Maycie modeling her flower with Aunt Obis.

And here is Jayden with Kathryn. You really can't see his tie, but I had to stick a picture of this little dude in here. He's such a ham. And he makes me crazy, but I love him to pieces.

My youngest brothers made paper airplanes to throw at Sarah and Rob as they left their reception. We blew bubbles too. I'm slightly embarrassed that I don't have more pictures of the bride and groom, but I wanted to concentrate on little details. Don't they look happy? It gets me a little choked up. Ha! I'm such a baby!

One of the highlights of the reception, at least for these two, was Rob's car. Not how it was decorated really, but those bricks. They blocked up the front tires with those bricks so the car couldn't go anywhere but you really had no idea why. The tires were just barely off the ground and just spun when Rob hit the gas. I laughed so hard I was crying. And Dustin didn't complain one bit about how late it was when we got home, because he HAD to stay and see them "leave". I didn't complain. :) He and my brother Robert definitely had fun. Don't they look like 2 little troublemakers?!?!

P-A-R-R-Y

My younger sister, Sarah, got married in May. ( I typed "little sister" and had to change it. I have 5 younger sisters and they're all taller than I am!) I'm still having a hard time with the fact that she's married. So weird. But she found a great guy and I couldn't be happier for the two of them.

I made Sarah an apron for her bridal shower and didn't take a picture, cuz I'm kind of lame like that. I also gave her the best cookbook ever:

I really think everyone needs this cookbook. Dustin has approved of everything I've made out of it. Try the Chili-Lime Steak. And the Perfect Frosting. And the Brazilian Lemonade. I could go on and on, but I'll spare you. Just buy the cookbook. And check out their blog here.

I had kind of a hard time deciding what I wanted to give to Sarah and Rob for a wedding present, but I think I came up with the perfect idea:

I found the perfect frame with 5 openings at a yard sale. I cleaned it up a bit and it was ready for pictures. Love me a good yard sale find!

I drove around town with my kids one afternoon and found all the P's, A's, R's, and Y's we could. The letters I ended up using were from a park sign, TV repair shop, high school, and college signs. It was fun to throw in a little alphabet practice for Jayden. I was pretty proud that he could spell their last name by the time we were done.

I just took close pictures of the letters and edited them to black and white 4x6 in Picnik. I took them to WalMart (I wish there were more options around here!) and got them printed. I tied a big bow around the frame and taped a card to the back instead of wrapping it.

You can see it hiding in the corner...

(And really, isn't my birdcage fabulous? I found it at Ross and I adore it.
It made a great holder for all the loose cards and tiny gifts.)

I've seen some really cute versions of this "letter art" and I was thrilled with how easy it was. What do you think? I'm brewing up a variation of it for our house. :)

Thanks for reading!

Playing a little catch-up

Hey lovies! What's the deal with life getting all crazy? Lol, I do it to myself, but I kind of love staying busy. I'm sorry my blog has taken such a backseat lately. I just realized how completely behind I really am.

So, there really is a reason for my busy-ness. I finally opened my etsy shop!!! Hooray! It's called Max & Maycie and you should go check it out! There's also a link on my left sidebar to go "like" Max & Maycie on facebook. You should do that too. :)

I LOVE that I've been able to share all my creations. I've had a booth at a boutique and also at a family festival in the last few months. I also had a bunch of orders for the 4th of July (3 dresses, 2 shirts, a mountain of bows, plus outfits for my own kids!) and they turned out SO cute! I'll have to steal some pictures to show you the sweet kids I got to decorate. (Is it inappropriate to "decorate" a child? Ha!)

I do have some projects to show you, so stay tuned!!!!

Thanks for reading. :)
